What is skin needling?

Skin needling, also known as microneedling, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of the skin. The treatment involves the use of a device fitted with fine, sterile needles that create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process, which includes the production of collagen and elastin – two key components that contribute to skin firmness, smoothness and overall vitality.

Skin needling can effectively address a variety of skin concerns, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acnes scaring and other types of scarring
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Stretch marks
  • Hyperpigmentation

How many professional treatments will I need?

The procedure is typically performed in a series of sessions, for optimal results a minimum of four treatments is recommended every four weeks. Topical serums with active ingredients, such as niacinamide (vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid, apple stem cells and peptide complex are applied during and immediately after the procedure to stimulate collagen and elastin production, reduce pigmentation, promote skin cell regeneration and increase skin’s hydration.

Post treatment, patients may experience mild redness, sensitivity or swelling, similar to sunburn, which usually subsides within a few days. Results will be greatly enhanced with the used of recommended home care products, results are typically noticeable within a few weeks and continue to improve as new collagen forms. Skin needling is considered safe for most skin types and is valued for its ability to deliver visible improvements with minimal downtime.
